Born and raised in Manhattan from Jamaican/Scottish parentage, Chris grew up with heavy 60s R&B, reggae, and classic rock influences. He attended the United Nations School from K through 12th grade, having great exposure to all kinds of cultures and music.

Although basketball was his first love (he even played for the Jamaican National Basketball team in ’04), music has been an underlying presence in his life since childhood. Heavily inspired to pick up guitar after listening to Eric Clapton, Chris dove into music towards the end of high school and throughout his time at Lafayette College. He learned mostly covers while at Lafayette and began writing in 2005.

After conquering the nerves of a first time performer, Chris started to play publicly in 2009. His first performance was an open mic session at The Shannon bar in Hoboken, NJ, followed by an impromptu gig in Halifax, UK.

By 2010, he had established himself in the NJ open mic circuit, transitioned to playing in NY, and now enjoys a loyal following for his gigs in the city.
